Traffic rules and laws are formed to safeguard you and other drivers on the road. Following the traffic rules won’t only save our lives but also of the other people on the road. But, by not following the traffic rules we are not only putting ourselves on risk but also so many other innocent passer-by’s and drivers. if you’re aware of the traffic and safety rules & laws it will help you prevent accidents and deaths.

As the country is developing along with the standards of living are also rising and people able to afford vehicles which leads to a long wait in traffic lines. It is absolutely necessary for one to be acquainted with the traffic rules and rules. Moreover, only being acquainted with traffic rules is not enough but obeying them thoroughly.  As responsible citizens, we should participate to work towards carrying out your duties, and responsibilities by following the basic rules laid out for us by the government. In this article, we will look at traffic and safety rules for while riding two-wheelers and educate beginners and spread awareness for safety rules.

Traffic & Safety Rules For Two-Wheelers

Always wear a Helmet

Keep in mind to always wear a helmet, irrespective of where you’re driving whether in the city, inroads, or the highways. A helmet is something which you can’t skip when you’re Riding a two-wheeler. It will help to save you and your head if you’re in a catastrophic event. Even if you’re not riding the two-wheeler and sitting in the back you should still wear a helmet for your safety. Therefore, you should invest in a good quality Full Face helmet and by wearing it while using a two-wheeler you can escape the risk of getting heading injuries and save your life. Take the responsibility on yourself of the other person riding with and make them wear a helmet. And remember you are wearing the helmet for yourself not to escape the cops or anyone else.

Maintain a Safe Distance From The Vehicles

Always keep a safe distance from the other vehicles while you’re on the road. Never park or stop right behind the other person, make a habit to leave enough space in between. Also, Maintain enough distance when you’re overtaking the other vehicle or even a parked vehicle. Do not try to braid in and out of traffic, try avoiding that. Furthermore, don’t try to cut through in between two vehicles even if there is space between them. Be careful and avoid any kind of mishap. Also, recognize that your bike will not stop as soon as you press the brakes, so take steps that the vehicle stops at the right time, and at the right distance.

Do Not Take More Than One Pillion

Keep in mind that not more than two people can ride on a two-wheeler. More than two pillions or sometimes even four pillions riding together on a two-wheeler are commonly seen in India. By doing so you’re not only risking your life but also of the other person. So please don’t ride with more than one pillion.

Remember To Make Use Your Indicators

Make use of indicator whenever you’re taking a turn to show the person behind you to be on a safer side. And always move on the right side of the lane.

Always Keep Your Eyes On The Road And Be Alert

Don’t be distracted while you are riding. Keep your eyes on the other vehicles and your surroundings. And keep eyes on signals as well to avoid accidents.

Look Out For Road Hazards

As you might be aware of the condition of Indian roads is not the best and even worse in the underdeveloped parts of the country. It would be wise if you will look out for garbage heaps, running sewage, speed-breakers, pot-holes, dirt roads, and stray animals while you’re riding.

Make Sure to Pullover Carefully

If you want to pull-over in between your ride to attend a call or some other urgent matter, make sure to use indicators while moving to the corner side of the left lane. Also, never pull over from the right side.

Make Yourself Visible To Others

Using the reflective bands, or bright & distinct color helmets make yourself visible to others. Also, cut put reflective bands on the side and back of your two-wheeler.

Use your Rear-view Mirrors

If you want to switch lanes, take a turn, or take a U-Turn Make use of rear view mirrors to avoid a Collison. Do not randomly try switch lanes in a hurry with being irresponsible.

Don’t Wear Headphones or Ear Phones

I repeat, do not ever wear headphone or earphones while you’re riding a two-wheeler. You won’t be able to hear the horn and other things clearly. Be on a safer side and do not talk on phones or text while riding.

Keep Good Maintenance of the two-wheeler

Be sure to give your bike or scooty a good service on a regular basis. Check Condition before riding your bike such as brakes, horn, clutch, and other things are working properly or not. If you have a well serviced two-wheeler, it will be efficient and not prone to accidents.

Do not predict things own your own

Do not try to predict that if a road is empty, or its night, there will be no vehicle and ride according to your wish. A vehicle can from anywhere, anytime. Make sure to take the necessary steps.

Give way to the Pedestrians

Allow the pedestrians to cross the road safely and soundly and then ride further. Don’t be in a hurry and bump somebody. Give them the proper way to cross and also, never try to overtake pedestrian crossing. Behave responsibly and fulfill your duties as a good citizen.
