Traffic rules and laws are formed to safeguard you and other drivers on the road. Following the traffic rules won’t only save our lives but also of the other people on the road. Always wear a Helmet

Keep in mind to always wear a helmet, irrespective of where you’re driving whether in the city, inroads, or the highways. A helmet is something which you can’t skip when you’re Riding a two-wheeler. It will help to save you and your head if you’re in a catastrophic event. Even if you’re not riding the two-wheeler and sitting in the back you should still wear a helmet for your safety. Therefore, you should invest in a good quality Full Face helmet and by wearing it while using a two-wheeler you can escape the risk of getting heading injuries and save your life. Take the responsibility on yourself of the other person riding with and make them wear a helmet. And remember you are wearing the helmet for yourself not to escape the cops or anyone else.

Maintain a Safe Distance From The Vehicles

Always keep a safe distance from the other vehicles while you’re on the road. Never park or stop right behind the other person, make a habit to leave enough space in between. Also, Maintain enough distance when you’re overtaking the other vehicle or even a parked vehicle. Do not try to braid in and out of traffic, try avoiding that. Furthermore, don’t try to cut through in between two vehicles even if there is space between them. Be careful and avoid any kind of mishap. Also, recognize that your bike will not stop as soon as you press the brakes, so take steps that the vehicle stops at the right time, and at the right distance.

Do Not Take More Than One Pillion

Keep in mind that not more than two people can ride on a two-wheeler. More than two pillions or sometimes even four pillions riding together on a two-wheeler are commonly seen in India. By doing so you’re not only risking your life but also of the other person. So please don’t ride with more than one pillion.

Remember To Make Use Your Indicators

Make use of indicator whenever you’re taking a turn to show the person behind you to be on a safer side. And always move on the right side of the lane.

Always Keep Your Eyes On The Road And Be Alert

Don’t be distracted while you are riding. Keep your eyes on the other vehicles and your surroundings. And keep eyes on signals as well to avoid accidents.

Look Out For Road Hazards

As you might be aware of the condition of Indian roads is not the best and even worse in the underdeveloped parts of the country. It would be wise if you will look out for garbage heaps, running sewage, speed-breakers, pot-holes, dirt roads, and stray animals while you’re riding.

Make Sure to Pullover Carefully

If you want to pull-over in between your ride to attend a call or some other urgent matter, make sure to use indicators while moving to the corner side of the left lane. Also, never pull over from the right side.

Make Yourself Visible To Others

Using the reflective bands, or bright & distinct color helmets make yourself visible to others. Also, cut put reflective bands on the side and back of your two-wheeler.

Use your Rear-view Mirrors

If you want to switch lanes, take a turn, or take a U-Turn Make use of rear view mirrors to avoid a Collison. Do not randomly try switch lanes in a hurry with being irresponsible.

Don’t Wear Headphones or Ear Phones

I repeat, do not ever wear headphone or earphones while you’re riding a two-wheeler. You won’t be able to hear the horn and other things clearly. Be on a safer side and do not talk on phones or text while riding.

Keep Good Maintenance of the two-wheeler

Be sure to give your bike or scooty a good service on a regular basis. Check Condition before riding your bike such as brakes, horn, clutch, and other things are working properly or not. If you have a well serviced two-wheeler, it will be efficient and not prone to accidents.

Do not predict things own your own

Do not try to predict that if a road is empty, or its night, there will be no vehicle and ride according to your wish. A vehicle can from anywhere, anytime. Make sure to take the necessary steps.

Give way to the Pedestrians

Allow the pedestrians to cross the road safely and soundly and then ride further. Don’t be in a hurry and bump somebody. Give them the proper way to cross and also, never try to overtake pedestrian crossing. Behave responsibly and fulfill your duties as a good citizen.

Helmets does not come with one size for all. People have a general conception that all helmets are of the same size and doesn’t need size. There are many ways through which you can measure the right size of your helmet. but before that, you need to identify the shape of your head. Measure your head and then calculate the right size of your helmet. You will have to follow the three steps to find the size of your helmet.

The first thing to keep in mind while finding the right size of your helmet is to know the shape of your head. Long-Oval Shape: Shaped for a head which is longer front-to-back (from forehead to the back of the skull) than it is side-to-side from ear to ear.

Intermediate-Oval Shape: It means that that side to side is slightly longer than front to back. Studies have showed that this is the most common type of head shape.

Round-Oval Shape: This type of head shape is one that is equal from front to back as it is from side-to-side. In other words, are identical in nature from both front to back and side to side. This head shape is type is usually found in people.

Now, with the help of a measuring tape or tailors’ tape which should be flexible enough to be wrapped around your head, and to take correct measurements for your helmet.

First, taking the measuring tape, wrap it around the abundant part of your head in a smooth manner. Make sure it doesn’t have any bumps or twists in between as it could lead to wrong measurements. It should be leveled all around your head. It should position above your ears and eyebrows. It could be a difficult task to do it on your own and take down measurements. Now, the size chart varies from company to company. so be always prefer the size chart of the helmet company of which you’re buying helmet from. Another, important thing to keep in mind is there are different size chart for children, teenagers, adults and women. So, make sure to compare the measurements with the right size chart for you and determine the accurate helmet size for you.

After, choosing a helmet size and you should go to the store and try on the helmet of your size and see if it’s comfortable and tight enough, but not too tight. You wouldn’t want helmet too small, which will be too uncomfortable, or too large falling again and again in front of your eyes. As I said earlier, many motorcycle companies design helmets according to the head type which will be suitable fitting for you. If you know your head-shape, you can buy the helmet according to your knowledge. And, not all motorcycle companies make the same helmets, their design and models are completely different. So, knowing your head-shape is the first step to determine the right size of your helmet.

  • What if my head-shape is a combination of two shapes?

It is highly unlikely but as always exceptions are always there. If your head-shape is a combination of two types of shapes. Then, there are motorcycle companies in market, which create all-rounder helmets keeping in mind all kinds of shapes in mind and can be worn by any shape. You should opt for these types of helmet, but with your accurate size after measuring.

  • How to confirm whether my size is accurate, or not after even after measurements?

If you have calculated your measurements and have compared your size. Then, you should go the store, ask the salesman to help you find your size of Helmet. Try it on, tie the chin straps and roam around a bit to see that they are tight enough and fit, and not uncomfortable. If not, then bam!! You found the right size of your helmet.
